A few months ago, I wrote the Blueprint For A Smaller Government (http://www.colony14.net/id117.html), a detailed fiscal proposal of a policy that would significantly downsize the Federal Government while protecting the US military from budgetary cuts and program closures. I was praised for the Blueprint and I’m glad that I was praised for it.

But the Blueprint only pertains to the US Federal Government. It’s designed only to solve the FEDERAL government’s fiscal troubles while protecting the US Armed Forces. It does not say anything about how to defeat the fiscal troubles of state and local governments, which, like the federal government, are suffering financial crises. So I have written this article, because it’s not just the Federal Government that should be reduced, but also state and local governments.

Some of these proposals pertain only to certain specific states or cities; others are universal.

1) Non-dangerous prisoners should be pardoned.

2) The renovation of the CA state capitol should be delayed by 4 years.

3) In every state, as many illegal immigrants as possible, and as many criminals as possible, should be imprisoned in county jails and federal prisons instead of state prisons.

4) The number of Oklahoma state agencies, and the number of California state agencies, should both be reduced by 80%; the number of Texas state agencies should be reduced by 50%. The number of OR state agencies should be reduced by 50%. The number of NH state agencies should be reduced by 50%. The number of Pennsylvanian state agencies should be reduced by 10%. The number of WV state agencies should be replaced by 10%.

5) The number of NY state programs should be reduced by 25%.

6) Only 50% of retiring state, county and municipal officials should be replaced.

7) All rail transit networks should be replaced by Rapid Bus Transit.

8 Randal O’Toole’s recommendations regarding transportation should be implemented, transit monopolies should be ended, and all transit networks should be privatized. 9) All stadiums in America should be privatized. All civilian airports in America should be leased or privatized.

10) The PA Turnpike should be leased.

11) California must end all aid to illegal immigrants.

12) Cities other than Chicago should mimick Chicago by leasing their airports

13) NYC should sell the land on which the New Yankee Stadium stands.

14) The State of New Jersey should sell the Giants’ Stadium.

15) The State of Louisiana should sell the Louisiana Superdome.

16) The City of Denver should sell the INVESCO Field.

17) The City of Saint Paul should sell the Xcel Center.

18) The number of state legislature committees in all states should be reduced by at least 10%.

19) Retirement benefits for CA officials must be radically reduced.

20) All states which have progressive income taxes should introduce flat income taxes to reduce the costs of tax avoiders.

21) In NY State: a) the Council on the Arts should be abolished; b) the Statewide Wireless Network should be privatized; c) 90% of unused state-owned land should be sold; d) tax credits for film producers should be abolished.

22) All states which do not yet have balanced budget constitutional requirements must adopt them (i.e. amend their constitutions so that their constitutions will require balanced budgets).

23) The pensions of IL state employees must be reduced.

24) Medicare and Medicaid should be abolished altogether (as should be all other entitlements that exist).

25) No state or municipal subsidies to Planned Parenthood, Amtrak and transit.

26) All state and municipal funding for abortions and embryonic stem cell research shall be abolished.
