Bring it on! Democrat Convention Fight

According to an ABC news story “Sen. Hillary Clinton Seeks Democratic Convention Voice.”
“Sen. Hillary Clinton told a gathering of supporters last week that she’s looking for a ‘strategy’ for her delegates to have their voices heard and ‘respected’ at the Democratic National Convention — and did not rule out the possibility of having her name placed into nomination at the convention alongside Sen. Barack Obama’s.”
Food fight! The Democrat convention may end up looking more like Animal House than a done deal. Hillary (and Bill) smell blood in the water. Little wonder Bill could barely manage to render a lame Obama endorsement when asked if he thought Obama was ready for the presidency.
Here’s what I think could happen. A month from now, when the Democrats gather in Denver, the delegates committed to Hillary will demand that her name be placed before the convention for a vote to be its nominee for President. Why? Because if Sen. Barack Obama’s poll numbers continue to flat line or even drop, it will be obvious to the delegates that what Hillary said during the primaries was right. Obama cannot win the battleground states likes Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Victor Davis Hansen, an excellent pundit, has written that the public is beginning to grow wary of Obama as he lectures them that, “We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times…” Oh no? And are we to take our marching orders from some guy who lives in a Chicago mansion purchased with the help of convicted real estate developer?
Obama has been making rooky mistakes that a more seasoned politician would easily avoid, but in the process he is revealing a rather unappealing Ivy League elitist who is having problems coming up with “solutions” to the economy, energy issues, and even the diminishing Iraq conflict. With a teleprompter, he’s Mr. Smooth. Take it away and he tortuously looks for the right words to answer even the simplest question.
None of this is a secret to the Democrat delegates and the resentment of Hillary’s supporters against this less-than-one-term Senator is palpable. Al Gore and the Demwits may still think George W. Bush “stole” the 2000 election, but Hillary’s supporters know for certain that Obama “stole” the nomination from her.
Hillary isn’t just looking for “a strategy” at the convention. She’s looking to wrest the nomination from Obama and this writer thinks she may yet do it.
If that happens, you will watch the Democrat Party coalesce around her as it sloughs off the “kiddies” and the Leftist radicals who are Obama’s main support these days. If the Democrats nominate Obama, they will be staring a repeat of McGovern or Dukakis debacle, but never underestimate this brain-dead political party to commit suicide. Again.
Hillary would be a formidable opponent if they nominate her. They can still “make history” if they switch their votes. And Hillary comes to the fight without Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko, ex-Weathermen Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, among others to explain away or, as has proven the case now for months, for Obama to renounce and reject after two decades of extremely close friendships.
I want to see a knock-down, no-holds-barred fight at the Democrat nominating convention. I want to see a repeat of the “good old days” of the 1968 Chicago convention with rioters and cops in the streets. I want to see the kind of disunity and mayhem that will create a whole new legion of Reagan Democrats.
