For some strange reason; I’m not sure why, I was asked a question about Barack Obama’s victory in the Iowa Caucuses. The question was racial in nature, regarding a statement made by an Iowa participant….
1. The Democrat Party is the party of tolerance and inclusion
I don’t recall any Republican asking America if Barack Obama was “black enough” or an “authentic” Black man. In fact, the liberal Los Angeles Times published an op-ed by David Ehrenstein entitled “Obama the ‘Magic Negro’“, and the lead line was that “The Illinois senator lends himself to white America’s idealized, less-than-real black man.”From the beginning of Obama’s march for the presidency, it was the liberals who looked at the color of his skin, not the content of his character.
“Since making his announcement, there has been no end of commentary about him in all quarters — musing over his charisma and the prospect he offers of being the first African American to be elected to the White House.”
2. Barack Obama can be the first Black president
We must remind people that Barack Obama, should he win, will not be the first Black President of the United States.
Bill Clinton was declared “the first Black president” almost a decade ago.
As a conservative, I could care less if a woman is elected president. In this case, it’s this particular woman I (and many other Americans) have a problem with. As a conservative, I could care less if a Black person is elected president. In this case, it’s this particular Black man I have a problem with.
But if the racial fires are stoked in the coming days and weeks, it will be the media, and liberal personalities, that stoke them.
Despite their best efforts to re-write history, the Democrat Party has the abysmal record regarding race in America, and I contend if our history were properly taught, few Blacks would want to have anything to do with Democrats. With that, Barack Obama should watch his back. Republicans see him as a political opponent. Democrats see Obama’s race first. Watch the election unfold. The farther Barack goes, the issue of race will be brought up and brought up often. It will be brought up by liberals and they will get yet another pass on their “intolerance.”
So what else is new…?
